The holiday season is a time for celebration, family, and… delicious food. While it’s tempting to swap your WOD for a cozy couch and endless cookies, it’s also the perfect time to stay active and maintain your fitness momentum. Here’s how to avoid the dreaded holiday slump and keep moving, even amid the festivities.

ree

1. Stick to a Mini Routine

Even if you’re traveling or busy with family, a short, 15–30 minute workout can make a huge difference. Think bodyweight WODs: air squats, push-ups, burpees, and planks. A quick circuit before breakfast can kickstart your metabolism and set a positive tone for the day.

2. Move in Fun Ways

Not all movement has to be “formal” exercise. Go for a walk with the family after meals, play tag with the kids, or challenge your friends to a mini fitness competition. Turning activity into fun keeps it sustainable and festive.

3. Prioritize Mobility

The holidays often involve travel, long hours sitting, and heavy lifting (turkey anyone?). Dedicate 10 minutes a day to stretching and mobility work to prevent stiffness and maintain joint health. Focus on hips, shoulders, and thoracic spine mobility.

4. Plan Your Workouts Like You Plan Your Meals

Put your workouts on the calendar just like you schedule parties and dinners. Treat them as non-negotiable appointments with yourself. Even if it’s a short session, consistency is key.

5. Don’t Stress Over Perfection

It’s okay to indulge a little and take a day off here and there. The goal is not perfection, it’s staying active and making choices that support your body and energy.

6. Join the Community
