Monsoon season has officially arrived in Vietnam! And while the rain brings some relief from the heat, it also comes with slippery streets, unpredictable showers, and days where motivation is... well, drowned. But don’t let the weather throw you off your game — here are our best tips to keep training strong all monsoon long.

1. Adjust your mindset, not your consistency

Rainy mornings and grey skies can make it tempting to stay home. But consistency beats perfection every time. Even a shorter or modified workout is better than none at all. The hardest part? Showing up.

👉 Pro tip: Plan your training schedule around the forecast and stick to it as best you can. One wet day doesn’t mean a wasted week.

2. Bring dry clothes and a towel

Showing up soaked is no fun, and training in wet clothes can be uncomfortable — and even lead to getting sick. Always pack a change of clothes, a towel, and something to keep your wet gear separate.

👉 Monsoon kit essentials: dry outfit, towel, plastic or waterproof bag, sandals or flip-flops.

3. Stay hydrated — yes, even when it’s raining

Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you need less water. In Vietnam’s tropical humidity, you sweat more than you think — especially during high-intensity WODs. So drink up!

👉 Hydration goal: around 2–3 liters per day, depending on your body size and activity level.

4. Listen to your coach: safety first

Wet floors, slippery bars, and puddles outside? Your coaches are already thinking ahead and will adapt the WODs as needed. Don’t hesitate to speak up if a movement feels unsafe — we’ll find a solid alternative.

👉 Common rainy-day swaps:

  • Indoor runs, rowing, or bike instead of outdoor sprints

  • Dumbbells instead of kettlebells if grips are slippery

5. Use rainy days to build your foundation

Can’t go hard on cardio or gymnastics? Perfect time to focus on strength, core work, and mobility. These “less glamorous” sessions are the ones that often lead to real progress.

👉 Ask your coach for a rainy-day mobility or core routine you can do at home or during open gym.

6. Stay connected to your community

Pop by the box even if you’re not training that day, check our stories on Instagram, or chat with a coach. Just staying close to the energy of the box can help keep your motivation alive — rain or shine. The monsoon is part of life in Vietnam — but it doesn’t need to wash away your training goals. A little preparation, the right mindset, and a strong community will carry you through.

💪 Rain or shine, we’ll see you at the box!
