✈️🌴 Summer’s here, and that means adventure, rest… and for many of us, a break from our usual training routine. But who says holidays and CrossFit can’t go hand in hand?
Whether you're island hopping in Thailand, exploring a European city, or visiting family abroad, it’s totally possible to stay active — without compromising the fun.
Here’s how to keep your CrossFit spirit alive while traveling 👇

🏋️ 1. Pack the Essentials
You don’t need to bring your barbell in your suitcase — but a few items can go a long way:
Jump rope for double-unders or quick cardio
Resistance band for mobility and strength work
Wrist wraps or grips if you plan to drop into a box
📍2. Drop Into a Local Box
One of the best things about CrossFit is the global community. Most cities have boxes that welcome drop-ins!
Search on Google Maps or use the CrossFit Affiliate Map
Reach out in advance and check the WOD schedule
Bonus: it’s a fun way to meet locals and discover new coaching styles
✅ Pro tip: wear your home box’s T-shirt — instant conversation starter!
🏖️ 3. Hotel WODs Are Your Friend
No gym? No problem. You can crush a solid workout in your hotel room, on the beach, or in a park.
Here are some classic travel-friendly WODs:
“Deck of Cards”: Hearts = squats, Diamonds = burpees, etc.
EMOM 12: 10 push-ups, 15 air squats, 20 jumping jacks
AMRAP 15: 20 mountain climbers, 10 V-ups, 5 hand-release push-ups
Need inspiration? We've created a holiday guide for workouts with and without equipement. So don't hesitate to pack it with you to make sure you stay in shape!
🍕 4. Enjoy the Food, Move Your Body
It’s okay to indulge. You're on holiday! But moving a little every day helps:
Boost your mood
Digest better
Sleep deeper
Think of training as your reset button, not a chore.
🧘 5. Focus on Mobility
Use this time to give your body some love:
Stretch by the pool
Do 10 minutes of mobility before bed
Follow a quick yoga flow from YouTube or Instagram
Your joints and shoulders will thank you when you’re back under the barbell.
💬 Final Thoughts
Training during holidays isn’t about chasing PRs. It’s about keeping the habit alive, staying energized, and feeling good in your body.
Whether it’s a quick hotel WOD or a drop-in at a new box — every rep counts.
So pack your shoes, enjoy every moment, and remember:You don’t need four walls to CrossFit. You just need heart.
